Punta Cana

We've been in Cap Cana (Punta Cana) for a few days now waiting for a weather window to Puerto Rico.
We have to cross the Mona Passage which is about 90 miles. Our strategy is to leave here at just before sunrise, sail to Mona Island, about 40 miles, rest till sundown then sail all night to reach Puerto Rico at 8 or 9:ooam.

We're staying at Cap Cana Marina as it's the only place to stay.

It's part of a mega complex but there is hardly anyone here. Parts of the the resort are completely unoccupied.
There are a lot of sport fishing boats in the channel where we are but the rest of the place is empty.

Just north of here is Bavaro with one mega resort after another, for like 8 miles along the coast.
I mean they are huge. And they're empty. Want a great deal on an all inclusive vacation? Check it out.

We rented a car with another couple and took a trip to Higuey.
Large town with a cathedral built in the late 50's.

One the way back we stopped to load up on groceries.
They have just about everything one could need right off the shelves.
Including this.
