A Travellerspoint blog

We got into Marathon Saturday afternoon and stayed for 2 nights at Sombrerro Marina. Got there just in time for St. Paddy's day. Topped off our water and batteries and moved out to the mooring field Monday morning. It's $100 a day at the marina & $22 in the mooring field.

The mooring field here is HUGE and it is full of boats.
This pic shows about 1/4 of the field.

They have a great facility here with restrooms, showers, laundry room, repair shop, large meeting room with internet, TV, books, etc..
Here's a pic of the dinghy dock. I'm in that building on the right typing this.

Doing our usuall errands on our bikes but mostly waiting for a weather window to open up.
We attended a meeting yesterday, and will be another one tomorrow, for boats traveling to theBahamas.
The idea is that people can hook up with each other and make the crossing together.
It looks like we may get a weather window this weekend so people are starting to plan.
We may go North, up to Rodriguez Key and stage our crossing from there.
I'll know more in a day or two.
